Enrique Lopez is a pioneer in coffee processing, constantly exploring new ways to push flavour and quality forward. At Finca Chelín, his expertise meets innovation once again with this exceptional Anacafé 14 lot.
Anacafé 14 is a hybrid Arabica variety with roots in Guatemala. Discovered by farmer Francisco Manchamé, it emerged from a natural cross between a Catimor-type variety and Pacamara. After years of careful selection, it was officially released by the National Coffee Association of Guatemala (ANACAFÉ) in 2014.
For this lot, cherries are harvested at peak ripeness, floated to remove defects, and rested overnight in concrete tanks before being meticulously depulped. A two-day sun-drying phase intensifies the coffee’s fruit-forward notes, while the remainder of the drying process in shade refines its balance and depth.
Full-bodied and syrupy, with a lively fruit character. Expect caramel sweetness, bright citrus notes of lemon and orange, and a lingering, winey complexity.
