Luis Anibal Calderon is a second-generation coffee farmer with over 40 years of experience, cultivating some of the finest coffees in Colombia. Based at Finca Villa Betulia in Acevedo, Huila, Luis has become a beacon of innovation in specialty coffee farming. In 2015, he boldly transitioned his farm to focus on exotic varieties, including the prized Gesha. His dedication to quality and sustainable practices has earned him recognition as a local leader and innovator in the coffee community. Today, Luis is joined by his son, Yeison, who shares his passion and helps manage the farm, ensuring the legacy of excellence continues.

This microlot, a 100% Gesha varietal, reflects the meticulous care and expertise of Luis Anibal Calderon. Grown at an elevation of 1,550 meters, the coffee cherries are harvested with precision, ensuring optimal ripeness. After careful selection, the cherries undergo a 30-hour underwater fermentation, are pulped, and gently washed. The parchment is then dried under controlled conditions to preserve its complex flavours. Gesha, a varietal originating from Ethiopia, is known for its delicate floral and citrus notes. This particular lot showcases a refined balance of vibrant acidity and silky sweetness, highlighting the unique terroir of Huila.
